Anne Langenskiöld Folke was offered in 1997 to create an art prize on behalf of Carnegie Investment Bank AB, nowadays D. Carnegie & Co. The purpose was to support skilful artists of the Nordic countries and stimulate contemporary painting. The goal was a long term commitment and the highest quality. The process led to the Carnegie Art Award and Anne Langenskiöld Folke has since served as Director of the art prize. Anne Langenskiöld Folke has as initiator and entrepreneur launched and run several activities like Bokförlaget Langenskiöld, TVAI (Tsunami Victims Aid Initiativ), Fair Play, a pre-school Rudalid and a primary school Albatross.
Ulrika Levén holds a BA in art history from Stockholm University and worked 1990-1998 as curator of the Rooseum in Malmö with Lars Nittve as Director. Since the start in 1998 Ulrika Levén has operated as a highly appreciated curator for the Carnegie Art Award. Levén is responsible for the presentation of all exhibitions, editor of the Carnegie Art Award-volumes and films with the artists, and has acted as moderator and lecturer at seminars.
Petra Bowring started at Atlas Copco’s financial department and later shifted to their advertising section. Petra Bowring has also dealt with marketing of computers and worked at the Carnegie Corporate Finance-team. She has since 2000 served as the Carnegie Art Awards specially educated coordinator. Petra Bowring deals with copy editing of all visual material as well as all registers, develops all printed material, flyers and advertisements and planning , as well as all administration of the art prize.
