During the exhibition Carnegie Art Award 2010 at Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen visitors to the exhibition have had the opportunity to vote for their favourite among the participating artists.
We are happy to announce that Tone Kristin Bjordam from Norway was the favourite of the Copenhagen audience. Congratulations!
In Tone Kristin Bjordam's work Coral we are captivated as viewers by what can best be described as moving abstract painting with allusions to both traditional romantic, atmospheric painting and chemical processes. With seductive imagery in a meditative pace, we are faced with cascades of colour that slowly appear to assume the shape of organic forms such as plants, smoke, clouds, explosions or, as the title suggests, corals.
