Lars Arrhenius works in series of pictures in which cause and effect play a key part. Formally, the works often incorporate variations on images from everyday life, from cartoon characters to the stylised and informative imagery of the pictogram. The work A-Z is based on the familiar London map with the same name. 264 circular images are distributed over the vast surface in a configuration reminiscent of board games, presenting 18 completely different characters whose paths cross and thus give rise to new events and narratives – like life in a big city. Lars Arrhenius also took part in the Carnegie Art Award 2001.
