On Friday January 8, 2010, the Carnegie Art Award 2010 opened at Listasafn Islands, the National Gallery of Iceland. The Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir opened the exhibition and made a much appreciated speech. More than 1,300 visitors crowded the museum this evening and Kippi Kaninus provided music.
The Swedish artist Anastasia Ax made a strong performance during the evening in collaboration with musician Sigtrygg Sigmarsson.
