Environmental policy

Carnegie’s external environmental policy applies to all Carnegie companies in Sweden and shall also be extended as applicable to other companies in the Carnegie Group. Carnegie’s external environmental policy is based on the company’s overall goals and business strategies.

Our external environment is affected by all production and activities that humans pursue. We consume energy and nature’s products at an accelerating rate.

Within Carnegie, we work actively to improve the external environment. We are ourselves responsible for our internal environment and can thus take total responsibility in these matters. It is not possible to control the external environment in the same manner, but our goal is to minimise to the best of our ability negative effects on the external environment.

Within Carnegie, our environmental work focuses on two main areas:
documenting and minimising our own environmental impact
training and encouraging our employees to take initiatives in environmental matters

Documenting Carnegie’s environmental impact
Each year, Carnegie conducts an environmental inventory in which our external environmental work is reviewed and its effects followed up. Examples of areas addressed:
Office and kitchen waste is source-sorted
Environmental aspects must be considered as far as possible in purchasing and procurement
 Energy consumption must be reviewed
Recyclable products must be used as far as possible
Transports must be coordinated where possible

Employee training
All new employees receive an introduction to Carnegie’s environmental policy and the guidelines that apply within the company. Certain employees, such as purchasers, receive more detailed training in environmental issues. To keep the subject current, short internal presentations and information are provided regularly.

Management and supervisors must actively support and encourage employees to act in accordance with Carnegie’s external environmental policy in all situations.
